I didn't have too bad a day yesterday. I got my jobs done in the morning and the rest of the day was mine. I potted around the house and got a few odd jobs out of the way and spent the rest of the day knitting and catching up on TV programs that I had on the planner to watch. Cooked a nice dinner last night, shepherd's pie, veg & gravy, hubby loved it. And then went to bed at 7.30pm.

I posted a book to my son today for his birthday on Monday. I can't believe he will be 35 on Monday! Where does the time go? Michael is doing photography at the moment. He is studying hard with a course as he wants to turn professional so I sent him a book and a disc on digital photography, I hope he likes it. He only lives about an hour or so north of me but because of our working hours it makes it hard for us to catch up most times. Me with my cleaning and he owns and runs a chicken outlet in a major shopping centre so he works all hours.
Long weekend this weekend with the Queen's birthday holiday on monday. Does anyone else around the world have this or just Australia?

Awhh poor JJ .... take a sickie he he .... joking

This morning first stop was the physio appointment .... then back home ... then off to the optometrist (need new glasses for reading & computer - tried about a dozen frames on which are all very expensive narrowed it down to 5 frames but couldnt choose so i'll take someone with me next week for another opinion) ... then back home to change .... & then off to work ... where i was run off my feet from the minute i walked in the door. Then at around 6.30pm ... the realisation that I hadn't even eaten my lunch .... which would explain why my stomach had been making strange noises all afternoon during my appointments So I ate a sandwich in the car whilst driving home .... & then had a plate of pasta when I got home at around 8pm. Watched some TV, washed up & sat down at the puter to strain my eyes some more hehe ... & here I am Very Happy
The weather has become suddenly very nippy the past few days I've noticed .... especially in the mornings & at night!!
Think I need to get a few more of these Sleep tonight

PostSubject: Re: What did you do today?   Sun Jun 13, 2010 9:26 am

I decided to give myself 2 days off this weekend so I did my weekend cleaning jobs (2) on Friday night, getting home just before midnight. I thought it didn't matter what time I got home at because I didn't have to get up for work on saturday.
Saturday (yesterday) got up and hubby informs me that he is not feeling well. He has a heavy chest so I had to go out to the chemist to get him some decongestant medicinem which he is taking. I had to do a little bit of shopping anyway and the rest of the day was taken up with washing and drying and vacuuming and changing the bed and dishes and looking after hubby LOL. Well, at least I didn't have to go out to work!
We sat down in the afternoon to watch the AFL. The Adelaide Crows and Hawthorn (Hawks) were playing at Aurora Stadium in Tasmania. We were all hopeful after last week's win over Fremantle that the Crows had lifted their game but were sadly disappointed this week. The Hawks annihilated the Crows! I got so frustrated because I felt that the Crows really weren't trying as hard as they could have and was doing this at the TV curse until I realised that it just wasn't going to happen so what was the use?

So...I just sat and knitted and finally I finished the scarf I had been working on for my g/daughter's birthday. I went to bed at 10pm and was up again at 3.37am this morning....'damned bloody body clock' I said to myself as I put the kettle on the make myself a . At least I don't have to work today.
I went into the lounge room and put the TV on and watched Ghost Hunters which was on Fox 8, then last night's episode of Lisa Williams Live that I had recorded, then finally last week's episode of Medium. (Our 'planner' is filled with programs like this ) All the while I was crocheting the edges of the scarf, cutting up pieces of wool and putting on the fringe. Then after I finished it, I turned off the lights and laid on the lounge and got a few Sleep

I'm finally awake now, hubby is watching something on TV sounds like something very old from where I am Shocked

Anyhoooo, I decided to take some pix of my latest creations and upload them here so you can all see my handiwork. Batteries are dead in the camera. Took some pix on the mobile, can't upload from the mobile, program is missing from computer - have to change batteries in camera. After 3 sets of batteries changed, I finally found a set that has a bit of power in them, so pix were taken and uploaded to computer .... now, let's see if I can put them in here...... here goes......

It worked!! Poncho, beanie and scarf. I am going to buy her a little pair of pink or purple knitted gloves to go with the outfit as well. I am not clever enough to make gloves

So what to do now? I have a ton of ironing to do and I still have to clean up my wooly mess from the lounge room. My next project is to sort through all my photographs and genealogy papers in my hobby room and try to put them in some sort of order scratch
I would like to get into some sewing as well but I have no idea what I want to make. Although I did have an idea of making fairy costumes for the girls for Christmas. I'm really proud of myself at the moment because I have never been a finisher and finally I am learning to complete projects I start so I will give myself a pat on the back for that at least.

Monday tomorrow (Queen's birthday public holiday) and I will be working most of the day I think - at the medical centre! I will be detailing

Take care all

Don't you just hate it when these people think they know more than you. They deserve a huge kick in the arse JJ. How dare they say something like that?

I have just found a long lost aunt on Face book, or should I say she found me. I have been asking the family about her but no one seemed to know where she was until now. When I was a kid in UK she seemed so much older than me but I now realise that she is only 4 years older than me isn't it funny how you don't realise this stuff till you're older?
I can't wait to get into a conversation with her now and find out how her life has been in the last 44 years since I have seen or heard from her.
She is in UK by the way.

Yesterday I wasn't feeling well and I was a little afraid that I may have picked up a gastro bug which is going around at the moment...normal winter woes. My granddaughter apparently has it, although I haven't been in contact with her for a few weeks now. But I do clean a medical centre so I should be aware of all the bugs at that place I guess.
Today I feel better (thank goodness). I only have 2 jobs this morning and then the rest of the day is mine. I want to start sorting through my photographs but I realise I need a new album to put them in so I will need to go get one of those first I guess... lol!

I've been back into my genealogy and found some more relatives. I've gone back to my great, great, great grandparents on my dad's mother's side and discovered that we are all Londoners, even way back then! My mum's dad's side were originally scottish.
Anyhow, time to start getting ready for work I guess.

Sadie, I always plan for saturdays to be my research day but........ damn farmville! LOL
Glad you're feeling better today, had my sinus' x-rayd today now to just find a doctor! My lovely GP retired 3yrs ago and the doctor that took over has now dumped GP work and gone back to specialist skin stuff so now don't have one
My son goes off to school camp on Monday for 3 days, not concerned about him actually being away cos they never home on weekends anyway but just hope he copes with the different routines and such

Isn't that annoying about GP's suzie !! curse Just when you find a really good one that you're comfortable with ... they leave. The medical centre I go to keeps rotating most of their GPs ... they have their regular permanent ones (a couple of them are ok but they don't work many days) ... & their 6-12month rotating ones. I had a lovely GP for a couple years there & she left .... you get sick of repeating things to new drs, especially when its an ongoing thing.

Currently trying to keep myself occupied before the soccer game starts ... still 3.5hrs to go ..... ho hum ho hum ho hum ... too nerve racking

Happy Father's Day to Misty's hubby.
(Father's day here is 1st sunday in September)

Misty, I am so glad you have a new friend. Who cares if there is a generation gap between you? If you get on well that's great! I wish I had some friends here but after living in this area for over 9 years, I still haven't made any real friends.
I was thinking this to myself just the other day actually, how I need to venture out and do something new. It's just that between jobs I am so tired that I don't have the energy to go out anywhere.

Yesterday I worked in the morning but I was home before hubby went to work. He worked until 1pm yesterday (Saturday). But by the time he left for work I was asleep on the sofa in the lounge room - my usual morning bed, and I woke a little when he kissed me goodbye, then went back off to sleep waking at about 8.30am or something.

I got myself ready and went to the shops to do a bit of grocery shopping. Got home and put everything away and sat back down on the sofa to watch some TV while I had a sandwich for lunch. The next thing I knew it was about 2.30pm and all was quiet. I found a note in the kitchen from hubby saying that he was at a friend's house and to ring him on his mobile. I thought to myself "glad someone has a social life because I certainly don't" and then I said that to him when he answered his phone - not very nice of me was it?

It turned out that his friend had rang and asked him to come over to help him put up some guttering.

So Dave came home and by this time I was preparing our leg of lamb ready for roasting. After that I got out a box of photos and a heap of genealogy papers to start sorting them out but I just couldn't be bothered! So it was back into the lounge to watch some more TV, coupled with getting on here to check face book and play some mahjong.
I let hubby take the TV after a while, telling him that I was fast becomming a couch pototo I was still playing on the computer though.

Time to get the vegies on so it was back into the kitchen....too quiet in there so put the telly on in the family room to watch some "Who Do You Think You Are"
I actually stayed awake until tea was cooked, dished up and eaten. Hubby and I sat in the lounge watching a bit of footy while we ate. After tea he switched it back over to his wrestling.... curse I am really not the slight bit interested in that, so I went back out into the family room and put on more of WDYTYA. I think I had seen these episodes before and about now I was getting dopey again. So got my pillows off of my bed, put on a movie and the next thing I know it was 11.30pm. I could hear hubby snoring - he had gone to bed and my movie had well and truly finished. So I packed up and went to bed too. I didn't think I would sleep but I did! Waking at 5.30 this morning.

Now I have bored you all to tears LOL.

Gracious Misty!! You shouldn't even be at the computer when you are in such pain. Please take care of yourself. I am sending healing thoughts to you as I type. I hope you have a speedy recovery

It's great news that there is nothing wrong inside your head but you still need to find out the cause of these migraines. Have you had your blood pressure checked? Are you stressed? How about allergies? Do you suffer with hayfever or anything like that? Start thinking of what could possibly cause these.

Take care

Having the weekend off!!
I did my saturday morning jobs last night getting home around 11pm...not too bad I thought! Today I am concentrating on my house which gets neglected a lot - poor thing LOL
At least with my own housework I can take my time and still make time for doing things like this (as the whim takes me )

I have decided that my Sunday afternoon job can wait until early Monday morning. I only have 2 jobs generally on Mondays, lasting about an hour each so it won't hurt to slot the other one in as well. That way I get Sunday off too!!

Hubby has scored tickets to AAMI stadium for tomorrow's Crows Vs Melbourne game. It should be great as long as it stays dry. No umbrellas allowed at these events because they obstruct other's views - which is fair enough I think.

I so want to be wrong here but my prediction for tomorrow's game.......Melbourne will win.....OOOOOH I WANT TO BE WRONG!!!

How's your weekend so far?
